Boost your knowledge: Chemical Peel FAQ’s

What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel is a treatment that can help with skin concerns like pigmentation, acne, and aging. It works by increasing the turnover of skin cells and bringing newer cells to the surface. When professionals apply chemical peels to your face, they provide your skin with the necessary ingredients to make it look and feel younger and smoother.

Will my AlumierMD chemical peel cause redness and peeling?

After an AlumierMD chemical peel, you may experience some peeling, similar to what happens after getting a tan. However, this peeling might not be visible to the naked eye because it occurs at a cellular level. The amount of peeling you'll experience depends on your skin type and the solution used, which is customizable to you. AlumierMD chemical peels are designed to be gentle and reduce irritation and redness.

What can I expect right after my chemical peel?

Right after a chemical peel, your skin may feel sensitive and become more sensitive to the sun as the top layer of skin renews itself. Once the peeling process is complete (usually within 3-5 days), you'll notice fresh new skin emerging, and the ingredients in your homecare products will start to work better. (We will provide you with an aftercare kit to help you take care of your skin and get the most out of your peel).

Are chemical peels only performed on the face?

Chemical peels are commonly done on the face, but they can also be used on the neck, chest area/décolleté, and hands.
